[FoE/BS] Under a blood red Cloud by TheOmegaRidley [FoE/BS] Under a blood red Cloud by TheOmegaRidley
~ Commission for Appletart-Longshot : :iconappletart-longshot: ~

Phew, finally done ! This one was a bit chaotic to finish, but I'm happy with the result ! :)
Starring Appletart longshot from Fallout: Equestria - Broken Steel in the DLC like fanfic Under the Red Cloud.
Lex/Appletart was pretty picky about details, but I can't complain about that, and he was pretty clear about what he wanted. I'm starting to enjoy working on commissions :D

You know what the hardest part of the Sierra Maredre is ? Yes, it's letting go. So fking let go of those 37 gold bars, you can't keep 'em anyway !

Really surprised I hadn't seen this piece yet. Just saw it linked in the Reddit AMA description.

But holy crap do I like it! Gah, I really wish I had something better to say about it than that. But all I know is this: I really like the feel to this piece. Maybe it's the contrasting colours between the pony and the background? Maybe it's the desolate, overbearing red-ness that the cloud has stained everthing? Hell. I dunno.

Huhu, glad you like it ! Even after all this time, I'm still proud of the angle and colors in this one. :)

Not my favorite either. It had some good plot and gameplay ideas, but its bad execution didn't show the real potential of said ideas, so it's just a "meh" DLC in the end. Glad you like the picture ! :)

No bomb collar... Maybe she already got to the vault :P
Very nice work! This whole scene is done perfectly, especially the lighting.

Heh, I don't know when exactly this takes place in the story, to be honest. Appletart didn't mention a bomb collar, tho, so I'll trust you. :p
And thank you, of course !

Fantastic layout, fantastic coloration and attention to detail! And then I look at that gun and it just kills my enthusiasm. An earth or pegasus pony could not possibly use that BAR. Seriously awesome otherwise.

A weapon like the BAR would only be able to be used in a Battlesaddle for a Pegasus or Earth Pony due to its size

So you say. Whether that is the case or not, that stock and trigger only make sense to me if it is being used as a rifle by a human. If it was designed to be fitted directly into a battle saddle I would expect just the barrel and action. I think it would have no stock at all and something simple like a slot or button for the trigger mechanism to interact with.

If there was mention of weapons designed specifically for them, I would consider that valid. But, in Fo:Eq there is not a one.

Glad ya like it :) Also, about the rifle...Appletart didn't ask for any changes to it so I kept it the way it is, and the character is a unicorn, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. :)

Gorgeous perspective, also, my favorite DLC!

Also, I managed to snag 2 of the gold bars, it was hard to give up my other shit but I managed. Also, how is it that gold bars of the same size weigh literally thirty times as much as the do in Skyrim?

Very glad you like it :meow: My favorite DLC's Lonesome Road, even if a lot of people consider it bad, boring, too hard and linear.

Also, you can actually get all the gold bars, you have to pick up every single one, then drop all of them on the floor at once. It will count as a single item, and you'll be able to drag it around without slowing down.
As for the weight...I guess it was for gameplay reasons ^^

I have yet to play Lonesome Road, but I've heard it's the shit. I just love the atmosphere, challenge and characters of Dead Money.

Also I guess I assumed physically carrying the bars while running to escape before the thing blows would have been too difficult, on very hard mode they don't give you a lot of time (the escape sequence reminded me of the old Metroid games). I wish I had thought of just locking the old bastard inside of the vault before, but at the time I was so goddamn furious with Elijah that couldn't resist putting a few rounds through his wrinkly evil rat bastard face right then and there. Also I'm not sure if anybody, even Elijah or Dean Domino, deserves to rot for eternity in a tiny room surrounded by gold bars, no matter how satisfyingly poetic that is.

can't keep them? bitch please. i've gone through that DLC twice now and both times i've walked out with all 37. No way in hell am i going through that god damn nightmare and not getting it all. thank god Bethesda's games are glitchy.

I did the same thing the first time, dropping all the gold bars into one and lifting that one up while walking out like a ninja. Dumb thing is, once you're past level 20, you get so rich it's not even worth it. I had around 200 000 caps when I started the DLC, so there was no point in keeping the gold bars. I never sold them anyway. :D

So yeah, thanks to glitchthesda, the lesson they tried to teach us looked more like a joke.

I have not been keeping up with Broken Steel, up to only Chapter 5, but I know that I enjoy it. I guess Appletart gives birth to her baby.

Either way, your art, like always, is brilliant. The attention you must put to detail is extraordinary! I love it, good work as always.

Interesting. Yeah, I have not been reading Broken Steel as much as I should have. I have been swept away by Project Horizons and it gets hard juggling all the characters in one's mind.

Yup, it is a Rarity hologram, well seen. To explain this in a few words, in the original Sierra Madre in Fallout, there's the hologram of a starlette on top of the fountain, and she's considered a beautiful woman. Who's more fitting for this role, in the pony universe, than Rarity ? :D

I see your logic in the choice of statue in such case :)
I think our conversations would be a lot less easier if I knew anything about FoE myself ^^; but, of well. I still support your works in this domain ^^

b..b-b...but she isn't exactly an Alicorn, at least if I can trust Lex's description, it's just her pegasus genes doing...something ._.
But for now, yes, let's just call her a cybercorn ! :dummy:
